That means the OSU coaches are already a bit behind on game planning for Saturday’s game against Louisiana-Lafayette, Gundy said. And that illustrates why the coach is happy OSU did not join the Pac-12 during conference realignment last year.
“Can you imagine if you would be playing in that league?” Gundy said. “With that one time that we were supposed to be playing the league, one of my concerns was if we play, then we’ll have at least three or four games a year where we’d be traveling back across the country like that.”
OFFENSIVE LINE, SECONDARY TO BENEFIT MOST FROM FILM SESSIONS
When asked which position groups would benefit most from this week’s film sessions, Gundy pointed to the offensive line, because of the five holding penalties, and the secondary, because of the multiple times an Arizona receiver got free down the middle.
Still, Gundy said, the Cowboys lost the game because of their numerous mistakes.
“Really, what got us in this game was the combination of penalties and turnovers,” Gundy said, “which fueled fan excitement, momentum and enthusiasm on the road. That’s what started everything.”
