But Saturday's Bedlam shootout — a 51-48 overtime victory for Oklahoma over Oklahoma State in Norman — featured more twists and turns than ever anticipated. So many, that Cowboy coach Mike Gundy said after the game that he couldn't pinpoint one that stuck out more than the rest.

Here's a breakdown of six key moments that shifted momentum in an evenly matched contest. The ultimate difference? The Sooners swung it back in their direction for good down the stretch.

Lyndell Johnson's interception

The play: Landry Jones had his token bad-throw-under-pressure moment midway through the first quarter, when he floated the ball right to the Cowboy linebacker near midfield. Johnson sprinted 46 yards to the OU 9-yard-line.

The result: Joseph Randle scored his second touchdown two plays later to give OSU an early 14-0 lead.

Momentum to: OSU

The squib kick

The play: After drilling a 42-yard field goal to put OSU up 17-3 early in the second quarter, Quinn Sharp tried to squib the kickoff. That gave the Sooners great field position at their own 43-yard line.

The result: OU produced an 8-play, 57-yard drive that was capped by a Trey Millard 14-yard catch and run for a touchdown. Then, a Clint Chelf interception inside the OU 25 on the Cowboys' ensuing drive would set up another Sooner touchdown to tie the score at 17. OSU and OU would each score a quick-strike touchdown before the half to keep the score deadlocked. The Sooners, though, had officially climbed out of the early hole.

Momentum to: OU

Trey Millard's fumble

The play: With OU driving for a chance to take the lead in the third quarter, Nigel Nicholas forced a Millard fumble at the OSU 14-yard line. It was recovered by OSU's Shaun Lewis.
