Oklahoma State football: Coach Mike Gundy says Cowboys have 'prototypical' defensive linemen

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said Thursday he's anxious to see what the Cowboys defensive line will look like this season now that OSU has "prototypical" defensive linemen.

Player-by-player, Gundy talked about how OSU has bigger athletes on the defensive line than at any other time in his eight years as the Cowboys' coach. "I wasnt to see some production and difference up front on defense," Gundy said. "I think we are going to be better up there this year."

The Cowboys list two relative newcomers -- juco transfer Calvin Barnett (6-foot-2, 299 pounds) and sophomore James Castlemen (6-2, 296) -- as the starters at defensive tackle, while Nigel Nicholas (6-3, 269), Cooper Bassett (6-5, 259) and Ryan Robinson (6-4, 246) will rotate at defensive end.

Oklahoma State opens the season Sept. 1 in Stillwater vs. Savannah State.
