Oklahoma State football: Cowboys closer to deal with Mississippi State?

Louisiana-Lafayette brings a familiar quarterback to Stillwater in Blaine Gautier. And a not-so-familiar, yet dangerous, one in backup Terrance Broadway.

Gautier, who ran for a touchdown against the Cowboys in a 61-34 loss a year ago, remains the Ragin' Cajuns' starter, although he was knocked out of last week's win at Troy with bruised ribs.

Broadway, a sophomore who sat out 2011 after transferring from Houston, came on to complete 10 of 16 passes for a 143 yards and a touchdown against Troy.

Quarterback controversy?

“This is still Blaine's team,” said ULL coach Mark Hudspeth. “He looked better in the locker room after the game. He was moving around pretty good. But if we need Terrance again, he'll be ready.”

Saturday's pregame activities outside Boone Pickens Stadium will include the KICKER Gameday Big Air Bash, an event featuring Moto-X riders performing bike tricks as well as other activities for kids and students.

The event will open at 8 a.m. at the Hall of Fame Block Party, north of the stadium. The motorcycle portion of the Big Air Bash will feature “Cowboy” Kenny Bartram and his “Steel Rodeo,” which includes Ronnie Renner, Matt Buyten and Adam Jones. The riders will perform flips and aerial tricks up to 70 feet off the ground. The four riders have combined for more than 20 X-Games medals in their careers.

The festivities will also include several vendors, face-painting for kids and students, posters, schedules, local businesses, product demos and more.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.
