Oklahoma State football: Cowboys' early commitments looking better as time goes on

The national analysts are taking a liking to OSU’s early commitments. At Rivals.com, recent cornerback commitment Jaylon Lane has been upgraded from three stars to four.

Oklahoma State’s football recruiting class keeps getting better and better.

Caution, however, as OSU’s new glow isn’t based on any fresh commitments, but enhanced views of the five already claimed.

Yep, the stars are realigning, as they always do this time of year, with the recruiting analysts assigning values to the Class of 2015. Any changes aren’t based on game production, but camps (and who went to who’s camp), so take them lightly.

Still, the stars are shifting kindly in regard to the Cowboys commitments, so enjoy, because frankly it doesn’t happen all that often.

Mike Gundy and Co. have made their move up in the Big 12 with mostly three- and four-star prospects, and lower, using their own evaluation — and development — skills to win like no time in program history, even as the recruitniks have typically shrugged upon their classes.

Well, who knows what it means for sure, but the national analysts are taking a liking to OSU’s early commitments. And obviously, the Cowboys coaches like them, too.

At Rivals.com, recent cornerback commitment Jaylon Lane has been upgraded from three stars to four. And the Nacogdoches, Texas, product comes with a bonus, as he’s actively recruiting more premium prospects.
