Oklahoma State football: Fewer than 1,500 tickets remain in Cotton Bowl allotment

As of Tuesday afternoon, fewer than 1,500 of Oklahoma State's allotment of 12,500 tickets for the Cotton Bowl were still available, according to senior associate athletic director for ticket sales and marketing Adam Haukap.

Additionally, student tickets for the game go on sale at 8 a.m. Thursday at the ticket office at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Those 470 seats are located in section 244 and are $150 each. Students can purchase up to two tickets in that section.

Missouri's allotment of 13,500 tickets is sold out, a school spokesman told the Columbia Missourian. After presales to Missouri donors and season-ticket holders, the remaining 1,000 tickets were snatched up less than 10 minutes after going on sale to the general public on Monday.

Missouri's original ticket allotment was also 12,500, but it received an additional 1,000 from the Cotton Bowl on Sunday night.

OSU and Missouri are more than just old Big Eight and Big 12 foes. There are plenty of other connections between the two programs.

Here are a few:

* Missouri offensive coordinator Josh Henson is a former OSU player and assistant coach. He went to LSU with former Cowboy coach Les Miles as the tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator, then to Missouri as co-offensive line coach in 2009 before being promoted to coordinator prior to this season.

* OSU receivers coach Jason Ray played at Missouri from 2003-07. Coincidentally, he finished his Tiger career in the Cotton Bowl.

* Former Cowboy defensive lineman Cooper Bassett is now a recruiting graduate assistant at Missouri. His younger brother, Dawson, is a linebacker at OSU and redshirting this season.
