OSU fans who were students in the historic football season of 1988 have vivid memories of Barry Sanders' Heisman Trophy season:

JEFF LIVINGSTON, grew up in Bartlesville, now of Charlotte, N.C.:

“I remember screaming, ‘Run, Barry, run. About every game. I remember Barry Sanders returning kickoffs, returning punts, cutting on a dime. Every time he had the ball. One minute you think he's going to be tackled, he'd spin, and he'd be gone.”

AMANDA SUMNER, grew up in Perryton, Texas, now of Tulsa:

“To be honest, I was not the football expert I am now. I didn't appreciate what I was watching, as I appreciate watching Justin Blackmon and Dez Bryant. But I definitely knew something special was happening.”

CHRIS ROSENCUTTER, grew up in Sapulpa, now of Broken Arrow:

“The way Sanders broke out, I never saw that coming. That was incredible.”

JOE EASLY, grew up in Stillwater, now of Palm Harbor, Fla.:

“I remember watching the A&M game, watching the magic happen. You thought it would end every week, and it didn't. He just got better and better. It was all about the buzz around campus. Seemed like the whole campus was unified, top to bottom. You gotta member back then, everybody still had the deep-down (pessimistic) attitude. That year, we were awesome. Got rid of some of those problems.”
