Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston was issued a citation Tuesday night for allegedly shoplifting crab legs, according to reports, and has been suspended from the Florida State baseball team.
Winston has no previous arrest record and was not arrested for his latest dust up with the law. Winston doubles as the closer for the FSU baseball team which is currently ranked sixth in the nation.
Per a school statement, "FSU's Athletic Department Code of Conduct/Discipline Policy provides that a student-athlete with a civil citation is eligible to practice and compete. The decision as to whether they are allowed to practice and/or compete rests with the head coach."
That means that the decision as to whether or not Winston will play against Oklahoma State in the Cowboys Classic in August is up to coach Jimbo Fisher. With the discipline being handed down now, expect Winston on the field Aug. 30 against the Cowboys.
