Oklahoma State football: Mike Gundy tells ESPN radio that JW Walsh will start against Florida State

Mike Gundy was asked multiple times this offseason about his quarterback depth chart.

The Oklahoma State coach’s response has been consistent — that JW Walsh has taken the majority of practice snaps, while Daxx Garman and Mason Rudolph have split second-team reps — but he never named a starter.

That changed Wednesday.

Gundy was the featured guest during a six-minute segment on ESPN radio with hosts Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo.

“JW has taken the majority of the reps and will be the guy who goes out there and starts for us,” Gundy said.

The news hardly surprises, but it at least provides confirmation as to who leads the Cowboy offense to start week one.
