Oklahoma State football: Mike Gundy to skip ESPN's 'car wash'

By Cody Stavenhagen, Staff Writer, Published: July 17, 2014

Only one of the 64 coaches from college football’s five power conferences will skip next week’s ESPN “car wash,” a series of interviews on various TV and radio shows on the ESPN campus in Bristol, Conn.

That coach is Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy, who is instead attending his son’s baseball tournament. Gundy also missed a media appearance at Scott Verplank’s invitational tournament at Edmond’s Oak Tree National on June 23. He was attending another of his son’s tournaments.

Wednesday’s car wash will feature West Virginia’s Dana Holgorsen, Iowa State’s Paul Rhoads, Kansas State’s Bill Snyder, Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops and Texas’ Charlie Strong.

Baylor’s Art Briles, Texas Tech’s Kliff Kingsbury, TCU’s Gary Patterson and Kansas’ Charlie Weis will follow on Thursday.
