Oklahoma State's hotel headquarters for the Cotton Bowl is the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.

A location offering luxury and comfort, the resort has been updated, so to speak, to resemble a training facility.

What once were vacant spaces have been transformed into a weight room, training room and meeting rooms.

“We try to keep them on that same routing, that same training cycle, same reps, same exercises that they've done,” said OSU speed, strength and conditioning director Rob Glass. “It enables them to be on that same routine. Mainly from a psychological standpoint, there's a lot comfort.”

The Cowboys transported weight equipment to the hotel. Similarly, the sports medicine staff packed its needed materials to provide a training room for taping and examinations.

“Basically, we have to prep for everything we have (at home), but here,” said athletic trainer Scott Parker. “We don't want to leave anything behind. We want all of it here in case we need it. Better to be safe than sorry.”

PRACTICE REPORT: SECOND PRACTICE IN THE BOOKS

The Cowboys held their second Texas-based practice on Saturday, working out at Euless Trinity High School.

“We had a good practice,” said OSU coach Mike Gundy. “We had a heavy day with pads, and players' spirits are great.

“We've had a great time so far at the bowl, but they focused in and had a good practice.”

FOR STALEY, SIX IS A WILD NUMBER

The journey that has been Kye Staley's career as a Cowboy finally nears an end.
