“He's fast and he can make somebody miss, so he works as a backup,” Gundy said. “Receivers and defensive backs are guys that are there in the return game, and he has worked with that unit for a long time.
“We had a couple of guys that really couldn't play much and backups had to play.”
GUNDY FOR SELECTION COMMITTEE? MAYBE SOMEDAY
OSU now finds itself in the middle of the national debate between all the remaining one-loss teams, which is sure to become even more paramount when college football goes to a four-team playoff next season.
Gundy was asked recently about how he feels those teams, including his, should be evaluated. He said he would look at strength of schedule and how handily those teams beat quality opponents.
With that said, would Gundy ever be interested in being on the selection committee?
“Whenever I get out of (coaching), that's something that I would enjoy doing,” Gundy said. “I have a background in college football for a long, long time. I think they need people on that committee who have a background in football and understanding the game, and at some point, that would be something I would look into.”
