Oklahoma State has gotten a big boost from its veteran receivers — specifically, the “Moores” — in recent weeks, as Tracy Moore and Charlie Moore have combined for 24 catches for 398 yards and six touchdowns over the Cowboys' last three games. Against Baylor, Tracy Moore had five catches for 126 yards and one touchdown, while Charlie Moore added four grabs for 67 yards and one score.
But the Cowboys also got key contributions from a pair of freshmen, as Jhajuan Seales tallied three catches for 74 yards and a late touchdown and Marcell Ateman came up with a leaping 51-yard grab.
“We really like where we are at,” coach Mike Gundy said of the receiver group. “We had the other two (young players) that got injured and didn't get to finish the season (Austin Hays and Blake Webb). Those guys will be coming back next year also and they will just be sophomores.
“We're excited about the young group of wide receivers that we have in the future.”
Seales has particularly been a factor all season long, ranking third on the team in catches (32) and receiving yards (493).
LESS IS MORE FOR TRACY MOORE
Headed homeward to Tulsa and his grandparents' house for Thanksgiving, Tracy Moore focused not so much on the feast, as good food in moderation.
