Oklahoma State football: Pressure is on Mike Yurcich this weekend against Kansas State

In 2012, OSU was hit with three quarterback injuries, leading to a QB carousel. It didn't slow the Pokes at all.

OSU scored at least 30 points on every foe but, inexplicably, hapless Kansas. They reached 50 points five times, including against bowl teams West Virginia, Texas Tech and Purdue.

But in two games this season against legitimate competition, Mississippi State and West Virginia, OSU has been stuck on 21 both times.

Yes, the offensive line has been retooled, and all-Big 12 tailback Joe Randle is gone. But despite the struggles of quarterback J.W. Walsh, he was effective last season.

Which leads us to new offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, hired away from Division II Shippensburg. Yurcich's offense has been suspect so far, and suddenly, the charm of hiring a no-name coach from a no-name school is gone.

Kansas State is in Stillwater on Saturday, and we start finding out if the Cowboy offense can catch fire, or if 21 points a game is just who they are. The pressure is on Yurcich.
