With a Saturday off, the OSU coaching staff was busy on the recruiting trail this week, putting eyes on as many players as possible. Head coach Mike Gundy was at Broken Arrow, which is loaded with Division I prospects in both the 2013 and 2014 classes.

Gundy, however, did not get to see Tiger running back Devon Thomas, a junior who has yet to play this season because of an off-the-field issue.

Thomas, who rushed for 1,775 yards and 22 touchdowns on just 180 carries as a sophomore, is one of three in-state players in the 2014 recruiting class with an offer from the Cowboys.

ROSS COMES UP BIG FOR TYLER

In a showdown of powerhouse programs, Oklahoma State receiver commit Fred Ross of John Tyler High in Tyler, Texas, produced a couple of touchdowns in a 35-31 victory over Mesquite (Texas) Horn.

Ross, 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, put the game's first points on the board with a 64-yard touchdown run, and later grabbed a 27-yard scoring pass.
