Three-star defensive back Ashton Lampkin committed to Oklahoma State in April and has never appeared to waver from that pledge.

Lampkin, who played at Fort Worth (Texas) Dunbar, has intercepted 10 passes — two of which were returned for touchdowns — over his past two high school seasons while also playing some receiver.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Lampkin is one of only two defensive back commits for OSU in this class, and, until Kevin Peterson switched from Oklahoma last week, was the only one.

Lampkin committed to OSU in April, went the next day to watch the spring game and has been back to Stillwater a couple times since then, including an official visit the weekend of Jan. 20.

Lampkin was hosted by OSU freshman cornerback Jonovan Griffin.

“He was just telling me about how Coach (Jason) Jones is at practice,” Lampkin told Rivals.com. “He plays corner too, so he just was just showing me the ropes really.”
