The 6-foot-1, 200-pound receiver caught just two passes, but both went for touchdowns as John Tyler, ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, defeated Class 5A Lufkin 35-21.

Ross finished with 118 receiving yards, including an 80-yarder to save a busted play on the first snap of the game. He added a 38-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter to cap John Tyler's scoring.

Ross is one of three wide receivers — maybe four, depending on what position athlete Jerel Morrow of Emporia, Kan., ends up playing — currently committed to the Cowboys. Counting Morrow, all four potential wideouts are considered four-star recruits by Rivals.com.

Morrow, 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, had three receptions for 61 yards and a TD in Emporia's 27-21 win over Shawnee Heights.

WORKHORSE PERFORMANCE FROM WEBSTER

While his team cycled through quarterbacks, OSU running back commit Corion Webster provided Atlanta, Texas, with its most consistent offensive production in a 31-17 loss to Gilmer Friday night.

Atlanta's first two quarterbacks were 0-for-8 passing, allowing Gilmer to load up to stop Webster. However, when the team's third QB, Chase Musgrove provided something of a passing threat, it opened up space for Webster, who ultimately finished with 138 yards on 23 carries, including a 54-yard score.
