Ateman plays big

At 6-foot-4, Wylie (Texas) East receiver Marcell Ateman is a big target, and he produced big results in a 34-31 win over Denton Ryan Friday night.

Ateman had eight catches for 92 yards as Wylie East scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns for the comeback win.

Rough night for Samples

One of OSU's top receiver commits in the 2013 class, Dallas Skyline's Ra'Shaad Samples, was held in check by another star recruit he could cross paths with again in the Big 12 Conference.

Samples had only one catch for 17 yards in a 38-36 upset loss to Arlington Bowie on Friday night, facing tight coverage from cornerback Steve Wesley, who is bound for TCU.

Skyline was ranked No. 2 in Texas' largest class. Samples is still having a strong season, now with 245 yards and five touchdowns through three games.
