Oklahoma State football: Todd Monken gets reality check
Preparing for Saturday's game at Baylor, Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Todd Monken did a review of last year's meeting with the Bears and was reminded of what a difference a year makes.

Comparing his first-team offenses, he found three common starters: guard Lane Taylor, running back Joseph Randle and wide receiver Isaiah Anderson.
“On the first play of the game, it was Isaiah, (Josh) Cooper, Tracy Moore, (Justin) Blackmon, (Michael) Bowie, (Nick) Martinez, Taylor, (Grant) Garner, (Levi) Adcock, (Brandon) Weeden and Joe Randle. “When our twos went in the third quarter, it was Parker Graham, Brandon Webb, the right guard was (Evan) Epstein and the right tackle was (Daniel) Koenig. And then a bunch of our other guys.”
Still, the 2012 Cowboys are averaging more yards per game this season than a year ago, 547.9 to 545.8, which are the top two yardage numbers in program history.
For Monken, it's a reminder of the talent the Cowboys have stacked up in recruiting in recent years under Mike Gundy.
“Mike does a great job of saying, ‘Our guys will play better than you think,'” Monken said. “And that is true. Everybody here has a certain skill set that you can utilize.”
