Oklahoma State football: Welcome to My World with Ashley DeForest, daughter of Joe DeForest
Ashley DeForest grew up in Stillwater while her father, Joe, was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State for 11 seasons.
Then Dad left Stillwater during the offseason to become the defensive coordinator at West Virginia, while Ashley stuck around and is now a freshman at OSU.

What's life like for the kid of the coach leading a Mountaineer defense that has struggled mightily this season? Does Ashley still feel connected to the Cowboy program? And what color t-shirt is she going to wear Saturday?
I was so happy for him (when he got the West Virginia job). I know this is what he's always wanted, and I support him no matter what.
Hearing people talk bad about him and saying that he's not doing a great job — when I know how good of a coach he is and how hard he works — it just really upsets me. It's his first year and they're rebuilding.
If there's a (home) OSU game, I'll go to that with my friends. If they play at the same time as West Virginia, I can always check in on my phone. If I'm at a West Virginia game, that night my parents and I will go home and watch the OSU game, because my dad still supports OSU.
I just went up (to the OSU football offices) last week and I talked to Coach Gundy's assistant. I went into the defensive staff room to say hi to all those guys. They all are so great to me, and they always have been. They would never just drop me because my dad left. I still feel like they're part of my family.
I'm going to sit with my mom for sure (on Saturday). So I'm going to be sitting with West Virginia people, but I'm definitely going to be neutral. It's just going to be so hard. I want my dad to do great, but I'm so close to all the people on the OSU staff and all the players, so I want them to do great, too.
