Oklahoma State football: Welcome to My World with Cowboys kicker/punter Quinn Sharp

Quinn Sharp was arguably Oklahoma State's best player this season, earning Big 12 co-Special Teams Player of the Year Honors and second-team All-American honors as a kicker by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Sharp's final college game, Tuesday's matchup against Purdue in the Heart of Dallas Bowl, will be played near his hometown of Mansfield, Texas. Before taking the field at the Cotton Bowl, Sharp reflected on his OSU career.

It kind of all started sinking in on Senior Day, when my parents were there. But it's been a fun ride. This is our last game. We got an opportunity to go out and finish strong.

You don't want to over think things, but it'll definitely be a little emotional. But I think once I get going and once I get into my rhythm of warm-ups and everything, I'll be relaxed and I'll be in my zone to where I usually get myself.

(I'll most remember) the friendships and the way all these guys, and me personally, have changed. The way I've grown under Coach (Mike) Gundy and just being around these guys. (I have) long-lasting friendships. You build a brotherhood here.

A lot of people are like ‘Oh, that's not really a trip for you (to the bowl).' But at the same time, I get to be around all my friends and family for my last game. That'll make it even better. To perform in front of them, and have the opportunity for some people that I've grown up with that haven't gotten to see games and have only seen them on TV to come out and watch, it will be fun.
