Face it: When you win, other programs are going to come calling.

Is that saying your coach will leave? Nope. Will Mike Gundy get some looks from other top-notch programs? Most certainly.

Heck, he flirted with SEC schools in 2012. Why not the University of Texas?’s Jeremy Fowler wrote Monday that Gundy should be getting a hard look from Texas in the Longhorns’ coaching search. After all, Gundy’s done more with the Texas recruits the ‘Horns didn’t offer in recent years than Texas has done with the top-5 recruiting classes nationally and all the Lone Star State’s supposed “blue chippers.”

From Fowler:

Gundy has won more with players UT didn’t want. Imagine what he could do with players UT does want.

Fowler points out that 70 OSU players hail from Texas. Seventy. It’s not like Gundy is unfamiliar with Texas recruiting.

Our own Berry Tramel recently wrote about the Gundy to Texas potential.

Justin Gilbert gets some love

He may not have come home with the Thorpe Award, but Justin Gilbert is still highly regarded. He’s an All-America DB according to SB Nation. also released its All-America team on Monday, and it was almost devoid of Big 12 influence.

Missouri, OSU’s Cotton Bowl opponent, had two players on the list, while OU’s Sugar Bowl foe Alabama had two players on the All-America defense.
