Oklahoma State released its 2013 media guide on the web Tuesday, which provides a roster update with all the Cowboy newcomers.

Here’s a list of the numbers the new freshmen and transfers will wear, along with the player who previously wore that number on that side of the football the last time we saw the Cowboys on the field in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Remember, large roster sizes means two players often wear the same number, such as Kevin Peterson on defense and now Ra’Shaad Samples on offense.

1 Ra’Shaad Samples, WR (Joseph Randle)
2 Darius Curry, DB (None)
3 Naim Mustafaa, DE (None)
5 Jerel Morrow, DB (None)
6 Marcell Ateman, WR (Jase Chilcoat)
13 Jordan Sterns, S (Quinn Sharp)
16 Deric Robertson, S (Andrae May)
19 Ben Grogan, K (Brodrick Brown)
22 Tre Flowers, S (None)
23 Rennie Childs, RB (None)
25 Taylor Lewis, DB (Yves Batoba)
26 Tyler Patmon, DB (None)
27 Corion Webster, RB (Michael Knight)
41 Dawson Bassett, ATH (Nico Ornelas)
58 Ofa Hautau, DT (Jarid King)
60 Zachary Crabtree, OL (Evan Epstein)
64 Jesse Robinson, OL (Michael Glover)
67 Brandon Garrett, OL (None)
70 Ben Hughes, DT (None)
76 Colby Hegwood, OL (Eli Dickerson)
77 Jaxon Salinas, OL (None)
79 Jack Kurzu, OL (None)
89 Sam Wren, DE (Nigel Nicholas)
95 Vili Leveni, DE (None)
96 Vincent Taylor, DT (Ryan Robinson)

Other notes:
*Safety Deion Imade has switched from No. 28 to No. 18, which was previously worn by Devin Hedgepeth, who had to leave football because of multiple Achilles tendon injuries. Backup center Zac Veatch changed his number from 86 to 50 during the spring.

*Random factoid: Cowboy receiver C.J. Curry, Darius’ older brother, was originally assigned to wear No. 2 last summer, the number Darius will wear. But C.J. switched to No. 8. Running back Caleb Muncrief wears No. 2 on the offensive side of the ball.

*Speaking of number switches, Marcell Ateman posted a new Twitter profile picture this week of him wearing No. 3, not No. 6, so looks like this info is already outdated.

*The depth chart in the media guide is the post-spring version, so that doesn’t give any new insight on player positioning heading into camp.

*One notable name not listed anywhere on the roster is offensive lineman Eli Dickerson, who at one time was considered a contender to replace Lane Taylor at right guard. However, he was not listed as either a starter or backup on the post-spring depth chart. OSU has said coach Mike Gundy will not address summer player defections until the first day of fall camp. Receiver Torrance Carr, who constantly battled injury during his OSU career, left the team after spring practice.
