Oklahoma State notebook: Cowboys enjoy full house at Gallagher-Iba Arena

Another sellout might be in order on Wednesday, when No. 14-ranked Kansas visits Stillwater

The Cowboys openly enjoyed Saturday's full house inside Gallagher-Iba Arena, where the place roared like old times.

Players rode atop waves of students. Coach Travis Ford grabbed the public address mic and applauded the crowd.

Now, with No. 14-ranked Kansas coming to town Wednesday for a clash of first-place teams in the Big 12, is another sellout in order?

“Should be,” said Cowboys captain Markel Brown. “Very fun game we played out there. We gave the crowd a lot to look forward to. We're on a nice win streak. We got another big game coming up Wednesday in Kansas … why not?

“We can use their help. This team, we look forward to the fans being there. We'll work our butts off for them to be there.”

KU THE NEXT ‘BIG ONE'

In recent years, OSU found itself scrambling for postseason relevance at this stage of the season.

This season, the Cowboys are not only battling for a Big 12 championship, but a coveted strong seed in the NCAA Tournament. And Wednesday's showdown with the Jayhawks carries much relevance.
