Oklahoma State, Oklahoma football players honored by Big 12 conference

ALL-BIG 12 — The All-Big 12 football teams and the players of the year were released on Wednesday. Several players from Oklahoma State and Oklahoma were honored.

Several Oklahoma State and Oklahoma football players were honored by the Big 12 conference on Wednesday.

2011 OSU Football Schedule Buy tickets

The conference released its players of the year and its All-Big 12 team.

Here is s a look at the state players honored:

* OSU's Grant Garner was named the offensive lineman of the year.

* OU's Frank Alexander was named the defensive lineman of the year and the co-defensive player of the year.

* Kansas State's Tyler Lockett, who is from Tulsa, was named the offensive freshman of the year.

* OSU kicker/punter Quinn Sharp was named the special teams player of the year.

Here is a look at the players/coach of the year and the All-Big 12 teams:

* Coach of the Year: Bill Snyder, Kansas State, 20th Season

* Offensive Linemen of the Year: Grant Garner, Oklahoma State, Sr., Mesquite, Texas

* Defensive Linemen of the Year: Frank Alexander, Oklahoma, Sr., DE, Baton Rouge, La.

* Offensive Freshman of the Year: Tyler Lockett, Kansas State, WR, Tulsa, Okla.

* Defensive Freshman of the Year: Quandre Diggs, Texas, DB, Angleton, Texas

* Special Teams Player of the Year: Quinn Sharp, Oklahoma State, Jr., PK/P, Mansfield, Texas

* Offensive Newcomer of the Year: Aaron Horne, Iowa State, Jr., WR, Oakland, Calif.
