Oklahoma state Senate will consider increase of homestead exemption
About 4,200 of Oklahoma 's poorest homeowners would benefit under a proposed adjustment to the state's property tax law.
The proposed law, which was passed out of the Senate finance committee Tuesday, would enable more low- income households to qualify for a doubling of their homestead tax exemption.
The homestead exemption is a $1,000 reduction in the assessed value of someone's primary place of residence....
