OG&E will reward OSU

Oklahoma State University will receive a $288,000 rebate check Saturday in recognition of its energy efficiency efforts. The university will receive a rebate check from Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. in an on-field presentation during Saturday's football game against Kansas State. OSU has been able to increase the efficiency of two chiller units by 20 percent by installing more efficient equipment. “Through our wind power and energy efficiency efforts, OSU and OG&E are partners in leading our state in sustainable business practices. Our wind and energy-efficiency efforts help reduce costs at the university and reduce carbon emissions,” said Jesse Langston, OG&E's vice president of retail energy. “This particular initiative with OSU accounts for approximately 12 percent of OG&E's annual energy demand goals and supports our efforts in meeting our goal to avoid building additional fossil-fueled generation until the year 2020.”
