Oklahoma State women's basketball: Toni Young can do more than just score
Young is the Cowgirls' leading scorer, but she impacted the game vs. Kansas in other ways. She had 15 rebounds and four blocks to add to her 15 points.

STILLWATER — Toni Young had a shooting performance to forget against Kansas, hitting just six of her 20 attempts from the floor in Oklahoma State's 65-52 victory in Lawrence on Saturday night.

But the Cowgirls' leading scorer impacted the game in other ways, with 15 rebounds and four blocks to add to her 15 points.
Young talked about to The Oklahoman's Gina Mizell about OSU's most recent road trip, her performance so far this season and the Cowgirls' upcoming game against Big 12 newcomer West Virginia.
Where does your mindset go when you're having a night like Saturday, where your shot just isn't falling?
“Usually, I'm a scorer. But if I'm not scoring, I have to help my team somewhere else, even if it's rebounding or getting tips on the ball. Something other than just going to score.”
What did your team learn on this last road trip, where you responded from an overtime loss to Kansas State with a victory over Kansas?
“It was big for us, because we had to make a comeback somewhere. I think it just shows that our team never gives up, regardless of a loss. We let that go and then we keep playing for the next game.”
As a senior, you've gone through the Big 12 schedule multiple times. But you've never played against West Virginia. What have you seen on film from that team?
