Oklahoma storms: Dozens injured, thousands without power in central Oklahoma

At least 60 people have been injured and four dead in storms that moved through central Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon.

Heavy tornado damage has been reported in Calumet, Chickasha, Concho, Deer Creek, Dibble, El Reno, Goldsby, Guthrie, Hinton, Longdale, Lookeba, Newcastle, Piedmont and Washington, according to a 7:30 p.m. update from the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management.

At least four deaths and 60 injuries were reported by the state medical examiner and state health department.

Emergency Medical Services Authority spokesman Laura O'Leary said ambulances responded to about 30 injury calls in the metro area.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission reported about 57,739 homes and business without electric service due to the storm.

PSO reported about 13,000 customers without power Tuesday night including about 9,500 in Chickasha and 3,100 in Weatherford.

Oklahoma residents who need non-emergency disaster or health and human service information, should call 2-1-1. Services are available 24 hours a day by dialing 2-1-1 from a home or cellular telephone.
