BOKOSHE -— Bokoshe teacher Patricia "Diane" Reece won many accolades for her teaching, but she didn't live to know she got the granddaddy of them all — the 2014 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

"This is obviously bittersweet," said Reece's daughter Kris Williams, also a teacher at Bokoshe Public School. "We were very excited for her because she was anticipating the news. She even asked about it when she was in the hospital."
