Oklahoma teen dies after collision south of South Coffeyville

Nicole Hathcoat, 17, died Friday after she pulled out in front of a pickup driving south on U.S. 169 in Nowata County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A Nowata teen died Friday morning when her car collided with a pickup on U.S. 169 about five miles south of South Coffeyville, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Nicole Hathcoat, 17, was driving west on County Road 6 and pulled out in front of the pickup, which was traveling south on U.S. 169, troopers said.

Hathcoat was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup, Janet Dickey, 57, of Copan, was treated and released at a nearby hospital.
