Oklahoma teen pleads guilty in 2013 shooting death of pizza truck driver, gets life

A Tulsa man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for the murder of a truck driver outside a Tulsa pizza restaurant last year.

Jermaine Savory, 18, pleaded guilty to first-degree felony murder for his involvement in the shooting death of Robert Horton, 53, of Arlington, Texas, on the morning of March 23, 2013, outside a Papa John’s Pizza location.

Tulsa County District Judge Tom Gillert sentenced Savory to life in prison with possibility of parole, but Savory must serve 85 percent of his sentence, or 38 years in prison, before becoming eligible for parole.
