Oklahoma temperatures cooling down just a bit with higher winds

High temperatures across Oklahoma will be slightly cooler Friday than recent days, the National Weather Service reports.

The central Oklahoma high will be near 99 degrees. Winds gusting up to 28 mph are expected.

High temperatures will continue to drop a little each day through the July Fourth holiday.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: Sunny and hot with a high near 99. South, southwest wind between 10 and 20 mph with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Friday night Mostly clear with a low around 74. South wind between 10 and 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 98. South, southwest wind between 10 and 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 72. South, southwest wind between 8 and 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 96. South, southwest wind between 10 and 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 74.

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97.

Monday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 75.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot with a high near 97.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 72.

Independence Day: Sunny and hot with a high near 99.

Wednesday Night: Clear with a low around 71.

Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.
