Oklahoma tornadoes: Builders from all over show their generosity

Money isn't the only thing being given. Suitcases, animal crates, shovels, gloves and other tools also are among the donations for Oklahoma tornado victims.

Good-hearted people deserve good ink — and digital huzzahs.

The Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association and Oklahoma Home Builders Foundation offered thanks Friday to members and builders associations across the country who have contributed a combined $20,000 and donated items for victims of the tornadoes.

Pass the thanks

Lots of folks are giving, from all walks of life and all kinds of businesses. Homebuilders being a big part of my day-to-day work, please allow me to pass the thanks along.

•  Chuck Robinson and David Yost, Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association.

•  Terri Harris, Mark Priess, Roger Copper and Adam Curran of the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa. The association also donated a truckload of shovels, gloves, totes, new shirts, cleaning supplies and materials.

•  Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs, Colo., donated a semitrailer load of suitcases and animal crates.
