Oklahoma tornadoes: Crossings Community Church makes $1.2 million commitment to storm relief efforts

Crossings Community Church, of Oklahoma City, has committed $1.2 million toward tornado relief efforts in a show the congregation's love for the community.

“It's a demonstration that not only are we going to put our hands and feet in the mix, but we are going to give our funds,” he said. “We want to assist families and help them get on their feet.”

Churches' response

Grubbs said he has been pleased to see so many churches responding to the needs of victims reeling from the natural disaster.

“One thing that's wonderful is that there are a lot of people in the Body of Christ that are doing what they say they believe. They are demonstrating it,” he said. “I'm proud of our church, but I'm proud of all of the churches. Typically, we are known for what we are against but this is a clear demonstration of what we are for. We are for people who are hurting because Jesus is too.”
