NORMAN — The city of Norman was spared serious damage from Sunday's storms, although other parts of Cleveland County were less fortunate.
Most of the damage was in the northeast part of the county, where officials say about 80 homes were damaged to some degree. Many homes were damaged along Indian Hills Road, between NE 156 and NE 192.
Andy Warrior, who lives near NE 156 and Indian Hills Road, said he helped get his brother and his brother's girlfriend out of their tornado-damaged home. He said the couple became trapped, but called him using a cellphone.
Warrior said his brother and the woman were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Meghan McCormick, spokeswoman for the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department, said authorities were not aware of any deaths or injuries.
