Oklahoma tornadoes: Recovery crews in Woodward need supplies

Crews are working to restore Woodward and need supplies. Items can be taken to the Woodward Emergency Management Agency

WOODWARD — Emergency officials said Monday they need more flashlights and batteries as cleanup efforts continue following the deadly Sunday tornado.

Flashlights, AA and AAA batteries, leather gloves and military-style cots are needed, recovery crews report.

Donations can be taken to the Woodward County Emergency Management office, 100 Temple Houston Drive.

Woodward officials also report the Salvation Army needs monetary donations to assist survivors.

Salvation Army donations can be made by calling (800) 725-2769 or going online to salvationarmyusa.org and clicking the disaster link.

Authorities said people affected by the storms should be sure to save receipts. Federal Emergency Management Agency officials say receipts are needed for financial assistance.
