Teen dies after crash
MIDWEST CITY — A Midwest City High School senior who crashed his motorcycle while driving to school early Friday has died. Kittrick Denone Johnson Jr., 17, of Oklahoma City, died Saturday morning, said Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes. Johnson was westbound on NE 10 about 7:15 a.m. when the motorcycle struck the passenger door of a 2009 Chevrolet Impala that had turned left in front of him near Lee Drive, Clabes said. The motorcycle caught fire and Johnson suffered third-degree burns, Clabes said. The driver of the Impala, James Griffiths, 63, of Midwest City, made an improper left turn in front of the motorcycle, but he has not been cited, Clabes said. The accident is under investigation.
BROKEN ARROW — Police arrested a man after a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian Friday. Robert Wallace Pitcher, 43, of Broken Arrow, was walking on Washington Street when he was hit by a vehicle about 11:30 p.m. near S Dogwood Place, police said. Christopher Lee Lange, 24, of Coweta, was arrested on a complaint of leaving the scene of a fatality collision. Lange and a male passenger in the vehicle were not injured, police said.
