Oklahoma tribal leaders, White House official discuss funding for Indian education

NORMAN — State tribal and community leaders urged more federal support for Indian education efforts Monday at a round-table discussion led by White House official William Mendoza .

Mendoza, who heads President Barack Obama 's initiative to enhance educational opportunities for American Indians and Alaska natives, called it a “fact-finding mission” to establish Indian education priorities.
