Oklahoma volleyball team eliminated from NCAA Tournament by Stanford

Oklahoma was eliminated from the NCAA Volleyball Championships with its 3-0 loss to No. 3-ranked Stanford on Friday night at Maples Pavilion.

— Oklahoma was eliminated from the NCAA Volleyball Championships with its 3-0 loss to No. 3-ranked Stanford on Friday night at Maples Pavilion.

OU, which advanced to the second round with a 3-1 victory late Thursday over Alabama, finished its season with a 24-8 record.

Stanford improved to 26-5 after sweeping the Sooners, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-18.

Madi Bugg led Stanford with 38 assists.

OU middle blocker Sallie McLaurin had nine kills and hit .333. McLaurin finished her collegiate career ranked seventh all-time at OU with 1,351 kills.

Oklahoma's senior class finished with a career record of 90-42.

On Thursday vs. Alabama, setter Julia Doyle had a career-high 10 blocks, which was the first 10-block outing by an OU player since McLaurin on Sept. 17 against Tulsa.
