LAWRENCE, Kan. — Here is the final of our three pregame blog posts to preview Oklahoma’s game against Kansas.
Here, Ryan Aber and I each make one bold prediction for today’s game.
ABER: Kansas doesn’t score until the fourth.
The Oklahoma defense was better last week than many realize, they just didn’t get the job done on so many third and longs and the offense didn’t help put them in very good position. While Kansas’ defense has been solid at times, its offense is horrendous. That leads to a shutout before the Jayhawks get some late points with the game out of hand.
KERSEY: This game will be relatively close at halftime.
Kansas hung with Texas Tech and TCU during the first half of games the last two weeks, and the Jayhawks’ defense is strong enough to keep the game relatively close through the first two quarters. I’m thinking the Sooners lead something like 17-10 at the break, and then pull away after halftime to win in a rout.
