LAWRENCE, Kan. — Here is the second of three pregame blogs from Ryan Aber and I.
Here, we each pick one Oklahoma player who has something to prove Saturday against Kansas.
ABER: Blake Bell
Sure, there’s been plenty of overreaction to Bell’s performance last week against Texas but after two lackluster games in a row, Bell needs to gain some confidence against a Jayhawks team that does plenty to boost opponent’s confidence. Bell needs to get a good rhythm built with his receivers, reestablish his running game and show the poise that he did in his first two starts.
KERSEY: Jordan Wade
Oklahoma’s defense wasn’t the main reason it lost to Texas last weekend, but the Sooners did struggle against the run, particularly in the first half. With Jordan Phillips out for the season, much of the responsibility at defensive tackle now falls on Wade. The redshirt freshman played pretty well against TCU two weeks ago, but Phillips’ absence was very noticeable against the Longhorns.
