Health club to open OKC store

The fitness chain Youfit Health Clubs will open its first location in Oklahoma at 6920 Northwest Expressway and is considering additional locations. The Northwest Expressway store is scheduled to open next week. Youfit has 71 locations in nine states and is opening new locations at a rate of three a month. Logan’s event to benefit Riders

Logan’s Roadhouse will host a community fund-raising event at its locations in Norman and Owasso from 4 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3. During the event, Logan’s will donate 15 percent of participants’ check amounts before tax to Patriot Guard Riders. If 50 or more participating guests visit either restaurant on the designated night, 20 percent will be donated. To participate, guests need to show an event ticket to their server. The proceeds from the event will help the Patriot Guard Riders fund future missions, purchase flags and plaques for military families, and raise awareness of its mission.

Baker’s Acres wins award

The Tishomingo-based agritourism business, Baker’s Acres, was recently awarded the Redbud Award for Outstanding Agritourism Attraction by the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association. Owner Jackie Baker, along with her daughter-in-law, Jamie, accepted the award at the association’s Redbud Awards Gala on May 13 in Oklahoma City. Baker’s Acres is a family-owned and operated business that attracts customers to an on-farm market with fresh vegetables beginning in June, custom pecan cracking and shelling in season and pumpkins in the fall. Annually, Baker’s Acres pumpkin patch attracts more than 7,500 visitors. The Bakers welcome families and school field trips where children visit the farm to learn about pumpkins, the maze, barnyard animals and much more.
