Mall plans Mexican celebration
A festival celebrating Mexico's independence from Spain will take place Sunday at Plaza Mayor at the Crossroads shopping mall at the intersection of Interstates 35 and 240. Fiestas Patrias “A Taste of Mexico” will be held in the southwest parking lot from noon to 9 p.m. and include food, booths from local businesses and musical performances, including Grupo Control, a cumbia group from southern Texas. “Fiestas Patrias marks one of the biggest legacy events we will have during the year, and the support from the business community has been overwhelming,” said Jose de Jesus Legaspi, partner of Plaza Mayor.
