Ex-OU star will help open store

— Former University of Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray will make an in-store appearance to celebrate the grand opening of a new Dick’s Sporting Goods in Lawton on April 25. Murray, now a member of the Dallas Cowboys, will be at the new Dick’s Lawton Town Center location, 261 NW 2nd Street in Lawton, from 1 to 3 p.m. The appearance is part of the new store’s three-day grand opening celebration. The store will host giveaways and drawings during the grand opening. The Lawton store will be Dick’s eighth location in Oklahoma and the 566th store nationwide.

Walmart to hire 300 in Choctaw

Walmart is hiring about 300 workers for its new Choctaw store, which is scheduled to open this summer. A temporary hiring center has opened at 4601 N Choctaw Road. Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months. The Garage opens new location

Local fast-casual chain The Garage opened a new location at 1117 N Robinson in Midtown on Monday. The Garage features a full bar, as well as a menu focused on burgers and fries. The Midtown restaurant is the fifth location in the Oklahoma City metro area. The Garage concept is part of Norman-based Hal Smith Restaurant Group.
