Oklahoma woman arrested after allegedly slamming hot grits in daughter's face

A Sand Springs woman was arrested by Sand Springs police after she was accused of slamming a bowl of hot grits over the head of her young daughter, police said.

Arayanna Charnaye Gordon, 23, was jailed on child abuse and resisting arrest complaints, Tulsa Jail records show.

According to an arrest report, police were called to the Day Spring Villa women's shelter about 1 p.m. Sunday after residents of the facility observed Gordon go on an expletive-filled tirade and smash a Styrofoam bowl containing hot grits into the side of the her 2-year-old daughter's head during lunch in the dining room.
