— Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale has called Sharane Campbell the team's “X-factor” all season long.

When Campbell plays well, the Sooners typically play well, too.

“She's our energy package,” Coale said. “She steadies everyone by her passion of play. I think every great team has a guy like that, who carries the team's heartbeat and body with them.

“She is that for us. When her heart is beating, our team plays well.”

Campbell and Oklahoma return to action Saturday evening at home against TCU, and the Sooners bring significant momentum into the contest. OU crushed No. 20 Iowa State in its last outing, winning in Ames for the first time since 2008.

Entering the game, the Sooners had lost three of their last four contests.

“I feel like we just showed our true identity,” Campbell said. “Even in that game, we made a couple silly mistakes, but now we know we're capable of that, and being confident in ourselves and trusting each other.”

The former Star Spencer standout scored 10 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds against the Cyclones.

Her 90 free-throw attempts this season lead the team, and she's made 84 percent of those attempts, good for fifth in the Big 12.

“I don't think it's a lot of pressure, just because I know I can bring that,” Campbell said of her coach calling her the team's X-factor.

“I know that I have to bring that. It's fun being that person. Whenever someone makes a big play, just being all in their face and yelling, even if it's not me, if it's them.”
