Oklahoma women's basketball: Sooners' Kaylon Williams working to reduce fouls while staying aggressive

The sophomore from Midwest City is averaging 10.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game so far, but has also struggled with fouls because of her aggressive playing style and the new, stricter NCAA rules.

A little bit at first. Any kind of injury you have, you're gonna be nervous at the beginning. My biggest thing was about rebounding … at the beginning, I was almost afraid to jump. I was afraid coming back down to the floor, so I got on my tiptoes for a little bit for a while. I really wouldn't jump.

We worked on getting a little weight off of me, so that would take a little of the stress off my Achilles. Losing weight really helped because it made me feel lighter. Now I just jump as high as I can and don't have any fear about it.

You guys have lost a couple close games, but do you feel like this team has what it takes to make a deep NCAA Tournament run?

I have a lot of confidence in our team this year. We have a lot of great parts. I think once we figure out how to put it all together at the right time, and grab opportunities at the end of games, I think we'll be just fine in March.
