Elks Lodge #1890 announced the winners of the fourth annual Youth Golf Challenge held at Hidden Creek Golf Course on April 5.

The event challenged boys and girls in their age groups in six areas of golf — driving, distance, putting, sand shot, fairway shot, chipping and a “trouble shot.” Scores were then totaled to arrive at final standings.

Boys ages 14 to 16: First place, Lucas Laukhart, Choctaw; second place, Mitchell Delp, Oklahoma City; third place Cameron Shelton, Oklahoma City.

Boys ages 11 to 13: First place, Nic Ziebro, Norman; second place, Silas Cox, Oklahoma City; third place, Cody Shelton, Oklahoma City.

Girls ages 11 to 13: First place, Olivia Ziebro, Norman; second, Kirsten Westlake, Oklahoma City; third Alyssa Hinojosa, Midwest City.

Boys ages 8 to 10: First, Brooks Levonitis, Oklahoma City; second, Preston Albee, Choctaw; third, Jackson Buck, Piedmont.

Girls ages 8 to 10: First place, Mara Kesner, Blanchard; second, Nevaeh Shelton, Oklahoma City; third place, no entry.

There were no entries in the 14-16 girls group.

An awards banquet was held at the Elks Lodge right after the contest. Midwest City Mayor Jack Fry awarded the winners with an engraved plaque. He was assisted in this effort by the Elks Exalted Ruler Charlie Debus, and Challenge chairman Ron Hancock.

Contestants and their families were treated to a meal featuring hamburgers and hot dogs.
