Jade Patton, Edmond North

Class: Senior

The story: Patton established herself as the state’s fastest girl the last two years, repeating as the 100-meter champ at 11.70 and adding a 200 gold at 24.19.

Athlete of the Year

Mia Mukes, Edmond Memorial

Event: 400 meters

Class: Senior

The story: Hadn’t won a single state medal before her senior year, and came away with four golds — three relays and the open 400, which she won with a time of 55.56.

Belle Wallace, Norman North

Events: 800, 1,600 meters

Class: Senior

The story: Wallace emerged with a strong finish to cross country season in the fall, winning the 6A title, then following it up with wins in the 800 (2:13.99) and 1,600 (5:07.68) in the spring.

Hayley Redwine, Norman

Event: 3,200 meters

Class: Senior

The story: A stellar career from start to finish, Redwine has been one of the top distance runners in the state since her freshman year. She closed with a 3,200-meter gold in 11:17.30.
